For nearly 140 years, the Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) has served as the unified voice for all pharmacy professionals in the state of Tennessee. The strength and resilience of pharmacy practice is a direct result of the advocacy, engagement, and support of each of our dedicated association members and leaders. The Building Tennessee’s Pharmacy Future campaign will generate visible reminders of the commitment and sacrifice of all past, present and future pharmacy professionals. LEGACY CONTRIBUTIONS

Contributions in support of establishing the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy through a Legacy Contribution will be memorialized through formal and sustaining recognition as a contributor at the level of your choosing. Whether you choose to make a Legacy Contribution on your own behalf, on behalf of your corporation, or in honor of a pharmacy pioneer, mentor, friend, or loved one, your gift will be helping to build the future for pharmacy practice in Tennessee.

Legacy Contributions will be memorialized through formal and sustaining recognition in the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy and formal recognition as a Legacy Contributor in electronic, print, and media distributions for the Building Tennessee’s Pharmacy Future Campaign. Depending on the level of contribution, Legacy Contributors may also qualify for Naming Opportunities or Commemorative Plaques.

NAMING OPPORTUNITIES

Contributions in support of the creation or renovation of the following areas or centers of excellence within the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy through a naming opportunity will be recognized in the area of your selection. You will receive formal and sustaining recognition in the location, center, or item you contribute to, and the location will be designated as the “John Doe” Center or Resource Center. You may choose to have the plaque engraved with your name, your corporation’s name, in honor of a pharmacy pioneer, mentor, friend, or loved one, or as a memorial to a pharmacy pioneer, mentor, friend, or loved one.

All contributors who choose to support the Building Tennessee’s Pharmacy Future campaign through one of the naming recognition opportunities below will also be recognized at the Pharmacy Legend level.

Center for Tennessee Pharmacy

$250,000

The Center for Tennessee Pharmacy will serve as an all-encompassing home for pharmacy practice advancement in Tennessee. This office building will serve as the central source for all things pharmacy, housing the Tennessee Pharmacists Association (TPA) offices, Tennessee Pharmacists Research and Education Foundation (TPREF) education and training space, and flex space for members. Through the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy, TPA will continue to fulfill its mission of advancing, protecting, and promoting high-quality, pharmacist-provided patient care in Tennessee.

Center for Practice Excellence

$100,000

One of the key improvements in the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy will be the construction of the Center for Practice Excellence, a training space that will be used for large meetings, educational programming, training sessions, and live presentations. Built to house up to 50 attendees at a time, the space will more than double the space offered at our previous location. This space will be reserved for a variety of education and training gatherings that will serve not only pharmacy professionals, but other members of the health care team, as well. The Center for Practice Excellence will allow TPA and TPREF to carry forward the mission to enhance pharmacist-provided patient care.

Pharmacy Advocacy Resource Center

$50,000

Advocacy on behalf of pharmacists and pharmacy professionals is what makes TPA one of the most highly respected pharmacy organizations in the nation. As TPA works to fight key battles on behalf of the pharmacy profession, the Center for Pharmacy Advocacy will be crucial to keeping pharmacists educated and informed about issues that impact their daily practice.

Substance Abuse, Recovery, and Wellness Resource Center

$50,000

Addiction to prescription drugs, alcohol, and other substances is a disease that does not discriminate, and unfortunately, pharmacy professionals are also affected. However, there is hope. For more than 30 years, TPA has championed recovery and wellness for pharmacy professionals through the Tennessee Pharmacy Recovery Network (TPRN). TPRN serves recovering pharmacists and pharmacy professionals through advocacy, education, and information concerning substance abuse and chemical dependency as a treatable disease. TPRN has helped hundreds of addicted pharmacists, student pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians to find recovery and restore their ability to practice pharmacy. The Center for Substance Abuse, Recovery, and Wellness within the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy will help in expanding the current scope and impact of TPRN, so that pharmacists and pharmacy professionals will be better equipped to combat prescription drug abuse.

Executive Conference Room

Located adjacent to the Executive Director’s office, the Executive Conference Room is the professional board room that pharmacy deserves. The suite will be used for important gatherings, web conferencing, small board and committee meetings, and staff gatherings. This suite will be furnished with a handsome conference table, board chairs, and an LCD television. The Center for Tennessee Pharmacy’s Executive Conference Room sets the tone for professionalism in the practice of pharmacy.

Kitchen and Member Workspace

The Center for Tennessee Pharmacy will boast a fully-functional kitchen and lounge area where members can relax and chat over a snack or a cup of coffee. Complete with stainless steel refrigerator, granite countertops, wooden cabinets, dishwasher, and dining tables and chairs, the Kitchen and Member Workspace will be the perfect place for members to network, catch up with old friends, or discuss the latest issues affecting their practices.

Foyer and Welcome Area

The main entrance into the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy is the first area that visitors see when they enter the building. Featuring a waiting area, welcome desk, and other member-friendly amenities, the foyer and welcome area are ideal for individuals wishing to be recognized by all who visit the TPA office.

Executive Director’s Office

As the Chief Executive Officer of TPA and Secretary of TPREF, the Executive Director represents the organization on behalf of the TPA Board of Directors. The Executive Director’s Office within the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy will be the site of many important meetings for years to come.

Student Pharmacist Workspace

TPA offers APPE experiential rotations in advocacy and association management to approximately 20 final-year student pharmacists from all six schools and colleges of pharmacy in Tennessee each year. These rotations are an investment in the future of pharmacy practice and offer students a broad view of the profession, an in-depth overview of legal and regulatory issues at the state and federal levels, unique pharmacy education opportunities, and a venue for networking with members around the state of Tennessee. The Student Pharmacist Workspace will give students the tools and equipment they need to succeed during their stay with TPA and TPREF.

Outdoor Patio

The Center for Tennessee Pharmacy will have generous outdoor space featuring a patio, table and chairs, gorgeous plants, and plenty of shade for hot summer days. The patio will be a perfect place for entertaining guests for many years to come. It is located outside the welcome and foyer area and will be visible to everyone who comes to visit the office.

Contributions supporting the following items or spaces within the Center for Tennessee Pharmacy will be memorialized through visible and sustaining recognition. You may choose to have the plaque engraved with your name or your corporation’s name, or in honor of or in memory of a pharmacy pioneer, mentor, friend, or loved one.

Bowl of Hygeia

Established in 1958, the Bowl of Hygeia Award recognizes pharmacists who possess outstanding records of civic leadership in their communities. This pharmacy award is presented annually by participating state pharmacy associations, including those in the District of Columbia and Puerto Rico. In addition to service through their local, state, and national pharmacy associations, award recipients devote their time, talent, and resources to a wide variety of causes and community service. Through your contribution establishing the Bowl of Hygeia Recipients Recognition Plaque, TPA will be able to prominently display and honor each past, present, and future Bowl of Hygeia recipient.

Tom C. Sharp Pharmacist of the Year

Established in 1958, the Pharmacist of the Year Award provides recognition to a member of the association who has distinguished the profession of pharmacy. In 1965, this award was given in honor of Tom C. Sharp, Sr., who had served as the Association’s Executive Director for 30 years, and in 2001, the Award was re-named to also honor the service of Tom C. Sharp, Jr., who served as Executive Director for 30 years as well. Through your contribution establishing the Tom C. Sharp Pharmacist of the Year Recipient Recognition Plaque, TPA will be able to prominently display and honor the past, present, and future recipients of the Pharmacist of the Year award.

Shelby A. Rhinehart Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award

Established in 2002 in honor of pharmacist and state Representative Shelby A. Rhinehart, who served 36 years in the Tennessee General Assembly, the Public Service Lifetime Achievement Award recognize individuals supportive of the pharmacy profession through legislative and service efforts. Barbara McAndrew Herald Award

Established in 2006 in honor of Barbara McAndrew, who served as a strong advocate for patients and pharmacy as a consumer member on the Tennessee Board of Pharmacy, the Herald Award recognizes an individual who has actively promoted the profession of pharmacy and the ideals of pharmaceutical care to the public, to the business community, to government, and to other health care providers. Herman Lubin Sales Representative of the Year
